DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nDescription\n\n\nThe Ecolo
 gy Day shares the knowledge and worldview of our First Peoples in relation 
 to the natural environment\, which provides resources of food\, shelter\, c
 lothing\, medicine\, art and livelihood to mankind.\n\nThe use of the Cleav
 er Woods Recreational Park as the chosen venue will immerse participants in
  a natural forest setting. The Day dawns with our paying homage to the Crea
 tor. This will be followed by a welcome ceremony\, including an introductio
 n of the day’s activities. These will include exhibitions by the Trinidad
  and Tobago Field Naturalists' Club\, Forestry Division-Wildlife Section\, 
 NGO’s and community groups. Participants will experience hands-on display
 s of roof thatching\, handicraft and art using forest products\, food and 
 the preparation of herbal brews by representatives of the Indigenous Commun
 ity. Educational tours of the Cleaver Woods Forest will be conducted at reg
 ular intervals by knowledgeable guides\, providing information on trees and
  plant uses\, their characteristics and conservation. Participants will als
 o be afforded demonstrations on plant collection and preservation technique
 s.\n\nPre-registration will be open for further courses in Caribbean Ecolog
 y to be conducted later in the year.\n\nKnowledge transfer through practica
 l application!\n\n \n\nConvois 2017 is a multi-location event held in asso
 ciation with community partners from both Trinidad and Tobago. It is a wee
 k-long exploration of Caribbean knowledge and indigenising education for Ca
