Caribbean identity reflects itself in our linguistic fertility. In sharing our languages, we reject mono-lingual domination and expand a community free of ‘barriers’ to self-recognition and our relatives in the region. ‘Nou Ka Pale Kwéyòl’ introduces St. Lucian Kwéyòl at levels 1 and 2 as a conversational experience in the learning of Trinidad and other Caribbean Kwéyòl languages. Drawing on the heritage and practices of Kwéyòl cultures, this course includes a wide range of materials and activities, including games, stories, folk songs, calypsos and live conversations with elders of these communities.
Philosophizing the Caribbean: Contemporary Definitions

This course presents panel discussions by Caribbean thinkers on the subject of its title. Panelists are drawn from across the region and diaspora. Participants will also share their own ideas in the format of Caribbean discursive spaces – liming, the lakou and reasoning.
Indigenous Conversations: Warau, Lokono, Garifuna, Kalipuna

This course introduces participants to the cultures of the Warau, Lokono, Garifuna and Kalipuna peoples of the region. Emphasis is placed on understanding the worldview, languages and customs of these cultures, as well as their value to the challenges of the contemporary world.
